- Soilnotes:
- The soils are derived predominantly from glacial sediments of Lake Agassiz and consist of clays, organic materials and some sandy deposits. Treed peatlands dominated by black spruce are common in lowland areas, whereas jack pine stands are common on sandy glacial outwashes.
